Following the First Daughter Ivanka Trump’s first official visit to Tokyo, the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe praised her this Monday.
“Before President Trump visited Japan, Ms. Ivanka Trump, adviser to the president, visited Japan and she attended the World Assembly for Women,” said Abe, before going on to further explain how the first daughter gave a wonderful speech, adding, “She stated that ‘Abenomics’ is ‘womenomics’ and that has impressed many people in Japan.”
During an 18-minute speech at the forum, Ivanka Trump — President Trump’s eldest daughter — lauded Japan’s paid family leave policy, adding equal pay is important because women are key to “achieving true economic growth.”
President Trump is currently in Japan as part of a 13-day tour of five countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the Japanese Prime Minister Abe, one of the main focuses of the president’s visit as well as the Asian leaders summit will be dealing with the ever-growing nuclear and security threat which North Korea and it’s war-crazed dictator Kim Jong Un pose to the free world.
“In accordance with the Japan-U.S. Security Treaty, the United States has a duty to defend Japan if and when Japan is under attack,” said Abe, adding how, “And under this very strong U.S.-Japan alliance, whenever an attack is made on Japan, Japan and the United States will work closely together to respond to those threats and we’ve been confirming this.”
The president’s tour will also focus on bringing fairer trade deals to the U.S. as well as economical growth.
